My name is John Newberry. I am married to Brittany, my beautiful wife. We’re in our 4th year of marriage. I am based in Central Arkansas but travel anywhere. I am a full-time producer and editor for Mike Barber Ministries. Long story short, I go to prison for a living. I absolutely love it. Photography is my creative outlet. I love it so much. This session was a very thoughtful Mother’s Day gift. I got a call asking if I could shoot this family. We scheduled a day and it was in the 40′s and raining. We rescheduled and it was a near perfect day. Everyone, meet the Bass family.

Some of my good friends from Portland came down and asked me to shoot them. Ricky’s been getting into photography and is doing an awesome job at it. Here is his site. Billie Jo is a ninja. Seriously, she is big into taekwondo and has a belt that could be possibly darker than black.

This year’s Thanksgiving was spent in Dallas at my wife’s parent’s house. There was a good 50-60 people there to enjoy this holiday. For the large family photo, I set the camera up on a ladder and set the timer. As you can see, my timing is immaculate… along with my cartwheels. I’m not blocking...
